Start with a duplicate of the photo rather than editing the archive copy. This lets you resize, crop or remove metadata for the listing while keeping the source intact for your own records.
Public selling platforms and messaging channels can reprocess images, but their handling varies. Prepare the exact copy you intend to send instead of relying on an unknown downstream step.
Review the data before you publish
Use the detected-fields panel to see the GPS, camera and capture-date fields available to the browser. If location information is present and not needed for the listing, you can protect your location before listing with a new local export.
Metadata is not the only concern: check the visible background, reflection, house number, paperwork and filenames too.
Keep the final workflow simple
Save the listing file with a clear name, verify that it opens, then upload that copy. Keep the original in a separate archive folder.
A well-controlled copy reduces accidental disclosure without changing the item description or the information you choose to provide to buyers.
